Backflow Certification Training

Français

Backflow incidents can contaminate public drinking water systems—posing serious risks to health and safety. This training equips professionals with the knowledge and certification required to prevent backflow through proper installation, maintenance, and testing of backflow prevention devices, as required by the B64.10 standard and applicable municipalities by-laws.

Objectives of Backflow Training

  • Identify cross-connections between potable and non-potable water systems.
  • Review approved valves and methods, highlighting their limitations.
  • Install appropriate backflow protection using approved devices or methods.
  • Gain proficiency in testing backflow valves according to OWWA manual procedures.

Why Certification Is Essential: Prevent Risks. Get Certified.

Certain backflow preventers include mechanical parts (seats, springs, valves) that degrade over time. Certified testers ensure these devices remain functional through regular inspections and testing, helping protect the public water supply from contamination.
